The music styles featured on "When Clocks Tell Time Backwards" are drumfunk, ambient, and minimal dnb.
This release covers a range of styles but has common themes through the use of tension and sparsity maybe as far as being ominous with a sense of isolation.
Macc's Barking Gloom features snappy, precise drums falling into edits and drum rolls with horn swells and infrequent piano notes. Shift uses four minutes to build before reaching the main percussion placing attention on the timbre of each instrument. Psycho Mantis's Victim fits into Drum and Bass by tempo but feels more like techno which matches well with Eschaton's Acid line in X Cygni. K-Chaos and LSD bring the focus back to Drumfunk: the former featuring several drum change ups and the latter meticulously editing the Think break into new rhythms.
