A Series of Jazz Chants

Data General's A Series of Jazz Chants presents four dnb, drumfunk tracks all using a similar palette of textures but distinctively unique arrangements and approaches to drumming.

The EP starts with SSSSSStttt which adds layers, becoming dense with mathematic intention as percussion layers into polyrhythms. His Master's Voice features a skittering, distorted melody and drum patterns that match the high-tempo energy. Next Bongo Larry eases up; staccato snares and bongos drift about waves of syncopation.

And End with Rests opens with a melody that seems to be saying goodnight. The drums are a counterpoint, hecticly cutting in and out like an experiment with randomized arrangement.
